The outgoing mayor Cr Reg Kidd has congratulated the new mayor saying now its time to get on with the big projects at the Sports Precinct and Mt Canobalas.

The new mayor recorded after the distribution of preferences 51.8% of the vote Tony Mileto his nearest rival with 48.2 %. Mr Hamling was the youngest of the 7 candidates who contest the popular vote.
